Browser Compatibility

Open Source

We are outspoken proponents of open-source software, and so support the adoption of Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome web browsers.  These organizations and software have pushed for standardizations and innovations that make the world wide web work, and work better.

Internet Explorer

Internet Explorer 6 was released in 2000, and has been superseded by Internet Explorer 7 since 2006.  While we understand there may be difficulties to upgrading in some circumstances, IE6 presents some serious security and usability concerns.  The landscape of the internet has changed considerably since 2000, and even 2006, and these browsers simply can't handle many of the newer technologies properly.  With the recent release of Internet Explorer version 8, we urge all computer users to upgrade to the latest version available and consider the use of alternative browsers.
